Faith Comes by Hearing

Romans 10:17

‘So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.’

Romans 10:17 [AMP]

If you want to build up your faith stop trying to do things that look good and start listening to anointed preaching about Christ Jesus. Faith comes by hearing about Jesus, not by or through our actions.

Luke 10: 38-42 tells us the story of two sisters. One sister chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and continually listen to His teaching while the other was busy and distracted trying to serve Jesus. The busy body complained to Jesus that her sister wasn’t helping but Jesus’ response teaches us what is best, what we should also do: ‘ … “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.”’ (LUKE 10:41-42 [AMP])

Are you like Martha? Are you so busy trying to be a servant that you fail to do the one thing that is necessary, that is best?

Here are three things you can start doing immediately to build up your faith:

  1. Find messages about Jesus.
  2. Listen to messages about Jesus
  3. Listen to more messages about Jesus
